OMEGA DATA ENVIRONMENT (ODE): SECURE LARGE-SCALE TELEMETRY POST-PROCESSING

The flight is over, the aircraft has landed, and the range team has thousands of gigabytes of recorded telemetry to process. Engineers need to extract hundreds of parameters from multiple simultaneous recordings, apply calibration corrections, identify anomalies, generate plots, and produce reports — all under time pressure from program managers eager for preliminary results. This is the post-flight data processing challenge, and it is the challenge that the Omega Data Environment (ODE) from Parraid was specifically designed to address.

A Comprehensive Post-Processing Environment

The Omega Data Environment (ODE) is a complete software environment for telemetry post-processing, combining data management, processing pipeline configuration, parameter extraction, and report generation in a single integrated platform. Unlike point tools that address individual post-processing tasks in isolation, ODE provides an end-to-end workflow that takes raw Chapter 10 recordings as input and produces calibrated engineering unit data ready for engineering analysis as output.

Scalable Data Management

Large flight test programs accumulate enormous data archives across multiple test missions, spanning months or years of testing activity. ODE's data management capabilities provide a structured, searchable repository for all recorded and processed data, with version control that tracks the processing history of every dataset. Engineers can quickly locate specific test events within a large archive and retrieve the relevant data files without manually searching through file directories.

Processing Pipeline Architecture

ODE organizes the post-processing workflow as a configurable pipeline of processing stages. Each stage applies a specific processing function — decommutation using the S-5000e processor, calibration, engineering unit conversion, best source selection using the BSR-100, or custom processing algorithms — to the incoming data stream, passing the processed result to the next stage. This pipeline architecture allows complex multi-step processing workflows to be defined once and applied consistently to every mission in a test program.

Security and Access Control

Many of the programs that generate the most demanding post-processing requirements are also the most security-sensitive. ODE's access control architecture supports role-based permissions that restrict data access and processing capabilities to authorized users, with comprehensive audit trails that document every access and modification event. This security model satisfies the data handling requirements of programs operating under government security classification directives.

Integration with the Parraid Ecosystem

ODE integrates tightly with the rest of the Parraid telemetry portfolio. It reads Chapter 10 files generated by the IMUX G2e recorder and the IMUX RE-CON Network Recorder, distributes processing jobs to the S-5000e processor and BSR-100, and presents processed results in the same parameter database format used by OMEGA NExT for real-time display. This integration means that the same parameter definitions and calibration curves used for real-time monitoring during the flight are automatically applied during post-processing, ensuring consistency between real-time and post-flight analysis results.
