IMUX G2E AND G2EH RECORDERS: THE GOLD STANDARD FOR CHAPTER 10 RECORDING

IMUX G2E AND G2EH RECORDERS: THE GOLD STANDARD FOR CHAPTER 10 RECORDING

In the flight test world, the recorder is the last line of defense against data loss. Engineers spend enormous resources instrumenting a test article, calibrating sensors, planning test cards, and executing flights — but if the recorder fails to capture the data, all of that investment is wasted. The IMUX G2e and G2eH recorders from Parraid have earned their reputation as the gold standard for Chapter 10 recording through a combination of proven reliability, comprehensive data type support, and intelligent redundancy design.

Core Recording Architecture

The IMUX G2e and G2eH are dual-path Chapter 10 recorders that simultaneously capture telemetry data to two independent storage paths. This redundant architecture means that even if one path experiences a media error, power interruption, or hardware fault, the second path maintains a complete and valid recording. For programs where re-flight is expensive or operationally impractical, this redundancy is not a luxury — it is a mission requirement.

Supported Data Types

The IMUX G2e supports the full range of data types defined in the IRIG 106 Chapter 10 standard, including PCM data, analog channels, MIL-STD-1553 bus traffic, discrete events, UART serial data, TmNS and Ethernet/IP packets. This comprehensive support enables a single recorder to capture the complete data picture from a modern test article without requiring multiple specialized devices. The G2eH variant extends these capabilities with higher throughput capacity, suitable for data-intensive applications such as sensor fusion payloads and next-generation avionics architectures. Plus the capability to input TMoIP channels (218-20 & Ch10 UDP) directly into the recorder and output baseband (PCM Data & Clock) from the recorded Chapter 10 file.

Time Correlation and Synchronization

The IMUX G2e accepts IRIG time code from an external time source and applies it to every recorded data packet with microsecond precision. This ensures that data from different channels can be precisely correlated during analysis, enabling root cause identification that would be impossible without accurate timestamps.

Integration with the Parraid Ecosystem

The IMUX G2e operates seamlessly within the broader Parraid telemetry architecture. Its Chapter 10 output feeds directly into the Best Data Engine (BDE) for real-time best source selection, or into OMEGA NExT processing software for real-time decommutation, and display. Recorded data can be post-processed using the Omega Data Environment (ODE), which provides a comprehensive environment for data mining, parameter extraction, and report generation.

Proven in the Field

The IMUX G2e and G2eH have accumulated thousands of flight hours across a diverse portfolio of test programs, spanning fighter aircraft, unmanned systems, rotorcraft, missiles, and space launch vehicles. This operational heritage translates into a platform that engineers can trust for their most demanding programs.
